Unibank has joined the Armenian Solar Energy Association (ASEA), which brings together companies in the renewable energy sector. The Association provides a shared platform for the private sector, helping to identify industry needs, strengthen dialogue with government and financial institutions, and create conditions for sustainable market development.
 
As part of their cooperation, Unibank and ASEA will work together to assess the sector’s financing needs, develop suitable financial solutions for businesses, and encourage investment in renewable energy.
 
In 2025, solar power plants generated 16.3% of the electricity produced in Armenia. The sector’s growth is creating new opportunities for businesses, but adopting solar and energy-efficient technologies also requires accessible financing tailored to companies’ needs.
 
Financing green energy projects is part of Unibank’s long-term strategy. Through its Green Leasing programme, the Bank finances the purchase of solar energy systems and energy-efficient equipment, helping small and medium-sized businesses modernise their operations and improve energy efficiency.
 
“Our goal is to make green technologies more accessible to businesses. Unibank offers leasing for solar panels and energy-efficient equipment on favourable terms, with annual interest rates starting from 9.5% and terms of up to 60 months. Interest rate subsidies may also be available for applications that meet the requirements of the relevant programmes,” said Emma Harutyunyan, Director of Unibank’s Program Lending and Business Leasing Department.
